Hammocking is a great way to get outdoors and see all that nature has to offer. One of my favorite parts of bringing a hammock with me when I travel is that I can relax wherever I have trees in close distance to one another. For that reason, my Double Parachute Nylon Hammock is a must have no matter where I travel. Below is a list of some of my favorite places I have taken my hammock when traveling in California:

1. Sequoia National Park

Hammocking at Sequoia National Park, California

Known around the world for its incredibly tall trees, Sequoia is one of my favorite places to unpack and set up my hammock. One of best parts of Sequoia is that there are many trees in close distance that makes it easy to string across the hammock with little effort. On a recent trip to the national park my friend and I strung the hammock across a river flowing through the trees. This was an amazing experience and definitely one that was made better with the addition of a hammock.

2. Sunset Cliffs, San Diego

As if the name wasn’t obvious enough, Sunset Cliffs is an incredible place to watch the sun set on the incredible San Diego coastline. For this reason bringing a hammock to Sunset Cliffs is a must and definitely makes the experience much more rewarding. The greatest amount of trees tends to be at the southern point of Sunset Cliffs and have the greatest views overlooking the sea. I always bring along my Trunk Straps in order to be able to hang almost anywhere. Sunsets aren’t the only time to visit Sunset Cliffs, however, and I have seen some incredible views at all times of the day!

3. La Jolla, California

La Jolla Cove

La Jolla is one of the most famous places to visit in San Diego and that is not without reason. With locations such as Windansea Beach and La Jolla Cove it is no wonder that this place has attracted countless visitors and locals alike to enjoy the views. One of the best ways to take in the views is by bringing a hammock. My favorite place to hammock in La Jolla is overlooking Scripps Pier. Not only does this place have great views but it also has easy access to an expansive beach below. This place also has many trees overlooking the water making it an ideal place to spend time close to the water.

Overall California has many incredible places to relax and take in the incredible views. In my own travels around California, I have found that I could make my travels much more rewarding by bringing my hammock with me wherever I go. Some of the best experiences I have made when traveling were made better by being able to sit back and relax laying between two trees.
