When we’re not out enjoying the great outdoors, we’re often times reading about it (sometimes both!). Summer is coming, so it’s high time to load up on some new reading material. Here’s a list of our top picks for adventure books and why we love ‘em:

1. Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer – because Krakauer (also, probably Into Thin Air)

2. Wild, Cheryl Strayed – for obvious reasons but also kudos to Cheryl for being strong enough to share her truth for the world

3. A Walk in the Woods, Bill Byrson – as with Wild, relatable for even the non-hiker, and hilarious

4. My First Summer in the Sierra, John Muir – because the Sierras

5. Our National Parks, Ansel Adams – best coffee table purchase and the most instantaneous inspiration imaginable

Still on our list for this summer:

1. Touching the Void, Joe Simpson

2. Ways to the Sky, Andy Selters

3. Running the Amazon, Joe Kane
